What is prejudice?

  • Stereotypes

Stereotypes and views and opinions that are widely shared by a given population. Stereotypes are formed by generalizing, often too simply, one or more of the unnecessary scars of a group. They can be used as positive and neutral as well as negative.

Examples of stereotypes are as follows:

• "Men are stronger than women."

• "Blondes are blunt."

• "No one can beat the Africans in the sprint."

• "Swiss trains are always accurate."

  • Prejudice

Prejudice is a kind of stereotype that contains judgment or judgment. A number of seemingly neutral stereotypes actually contain an element of judgment.

Examples of prejudices:

Friday evening, there is a youth behind the stop. He's probably drunk. "

"Without education life does not make sense."

"I do not think X is smart because it never reads books."

"I do not like Asians because they smile too often."

"If she is a girl, she will not enter the scientific circles."
